~A Test of Forbearance~

Foggy was determined to keep up with trends. He didn't want to be a fuddy-duddy baffled by everything the youths found cool. Matt supported his efforts in theory, had even used things he'd learned from Foggy to connect with kids at the School for the Blind where he volunteered.

But every time a package was dropped off and Foggy hummed happily to himself as he opened it, Matt questioned what new toy or device would be disrupting their happy home life this time.

Modern toys were just so beepy; whatever had happened to the hula hoop or Slinky. Or Pet Rock! Pet Rocks were wonderfully quiet and could double as a defensive weapon if need be.

Today's package was small, which meant nothing in terms of beep potential. (Matt still shuddered at the Tamagotchi that had lasted three days before he'd chucked it out their office window. Beepiness exponentially inverse to its size.)

It sounded soft as Foggy pulled it from its packaging, which was good, but then he heard the clacking of an internal plastic skeleton, which was bad. Plush toys, the only good fad in Matt's opinion, didn't need skeletons.

"Matt, meet Noo-loo, my new Furby!"

Oh no.
