Summary: Donald was fifteen when he fully understood what it meant that his daemon was male.
Notes: Written for the His Dark Materials Crossover/Fusion Challenge. This is light on the His Dark Materials side, so as long as you've got an idea about daemons (or even if you don't) you should be good. Philip Pullman has said that he's not sure what it means when a person has a daemon of the same gender as a response to the suggestion (by others) that it means the person in question is gay. I'm taking the view that there's a higher incidence of homosexuality in that group than in the general population but that it doesn't necessarily indicate anything.
