~The Beauty Part~
It's a howler, being with Foggy, people say. Matt can hear the comments people make when they see the pair of them, that Foggy's a 3 who somehow landed a 9, that Matt's blindness must be why he chose Foggy. Foggy can too, and he hunches down, tries to hide in his own clothes, when he realizes people are judging him as unworthy of Matt.
It's insulting.
As if looks are the only part of a person that could be appealing, or as if Matt wouldn't adore Foggy as much if he could see him. How shallow their relationships must be if they can't appreciate the joy of a full-bodied laugh, the warmth of a body pressed next to theirs, the comfort of being wrapped in your beloved's smell when you steal their clothes. The exhilaration of a debate with someone just as clever and caring as you.
Foggy is beautiful; it's the rest of the world that's wrong.
And Matt tries to tell Foggy that every day, through word and deed. He hopes that one day Foggy will believe him, trust in him, rather than those who tear him down without a care. It's his joy to love Foggy.
